Kassandra Palmer
Kassandra Palmer’s works are inspired by her background in physics and by her experiences of parenthood. Imagery of butterflies, profiles in silhouette, moons, houses, trees and wood grain characterize the work. These symbols build both an outer world and an inner world, simultaneously reflecting the landscape of her home in Wisconsin, USA as they point towards themes of interiority and metamorphosis. Relying on an archetypal visual language that freely oscillates between figuration and abstraction, each construction is a souvenir from a mental landscape, embodying part of the foundational physical mystery that exists in the paradoxical relationship between observation and perception.
Kassandra Palmer is an artist and reformed scientist who lives in Madison, Wisconsin, USA. Her work studies interactions of time, symbol, story, psychology, and nature.
